NBR - Nitrile rubber

Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is a family of unsaturated copolymers of 2-propenenitrile and various butadiene monomers.

A particular NBR’s ability is to withstand a range of temperatures from -40°C to +120°C. This peculiarity makes it an ideal material for a wide range of products which require, as common factor, the excellent resistance against oil.

If compared with natural rubber, the nitrile rubber is more resistant against lubes and acids and it is generally resistant against aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Apart from this characteristic, additional advantages are
  • improved physical properties
  • very good dynamic properties (e.g., heat build-up)
  • heat resistance
  • very good abrasion resistance.
