Packaging - storage - transport
When the processing is finished, it is necessary to protect the surface of the cylinder with sheets of paper, not stain and impenetrable to the light.
The trunnions of the cylinders should be protected with oil, if it is expected a long time of storage before the use.
The optimal solution for the packing of the cylinders is a wooden box, where the cylinder can lean with the trunnions on appropriate supports expected
in the structure of the box, avoiding that the rubber lining is in contact with the walls of the box.
The cylinders without trunnions should be transported in boxes using a central trunnion which, inserted in the cylinder, can tolerate the weight avoiding
the contact of the rubber with the low part of the box.
The handling of rubber lined cylinders must be performed by means of sling on the trunnions of the cylinders, if possible with textile straps to high resistance.
In case of linings on cylinders without trunnions the lifting can be performed using the most possible large bands, placed at the center of the cylinder face.
The cylinders should be kept in closed rooms, shelter from the bad weather, from the direct sunrays, from concentrated heat sources and from ozonizing and ionizing radiations.
Oils, greases, solvents and other chemical agents should not enter in contact with the rubber lining.
During the storage, avoid lower or too high temperatures.
