Blasting

Metal parts can be released for lining operation only after that they have been inspected and approved as per the indications of specifications DIN 28051 and 28053.

Metal parts which have been used may be stripped and relined providing that the metal substrate is still in a good condition after the removal of old lining.

However such parts must be carefully examined to ensure that metal is not corroded and so does not compromise the application of the new lining.

In this case, as metal part has already been in contact with chemicals, it must be carefully checked and, if necessary, decontaminated using the most appropriate system in order to avoid compromising of the characteristics of the new lining.

All surfaces to be processed must be clean, dry and free from traces of oil, grease, etc.

The surfaces to be processed must be blasted in order to eliminate any trace of oxide or milling scale or any foreign material.

In case of equipment with abrasive recycling, the equipment must be complete of screening and dust aspiration devices.

After blasting the surface must be cleaned from residuals of grit and from dust.
